Ho Chiak – China China

Ho Chiak – China China

The most interesting thing about Ho Chiak – China China is that it’s not the kind of place you go to when you’re looking for fine dining, it’s more like a hole in the wall type spot. Its location just up from The Old Market makes it perfect if you’re out on Preston Street and need something quick or cheap. The best part? They deliver through Dinner2Go.

Your friendly, authentic Chinese restaurant in Brighton.

This restaurant’s chefs are among the most talented in Brighton, and they have been cooking up delicious Chinese dishes for many years.

From the Menu

You can choose from braised pork, fried beef, vegetarian spring rolls, and grilled pork dumplings, among other options.

The prawn dumplings were so good that I couldn’t get enough. The wonton soup and roasted duck go together like peas in a pod, but the beer was my favourite part of this meal because it’s awesome with food (and Chinese tea!).

The menu at Ho Chiak is such a fun, diverse mix of dishes that there’s something for everyone! Ho Chiak is a place for me and my friends to order takeout too. We love their staff’s creativity when it comes to dishes, especially the service they provide us with each time we come in!

Good Friends

Good Friends

When I heard that my good friend was coming over, the first thing I did was offer to take them out for dinner at Good Friends Brighton. When we walked into this place and saw all sorts of weird things on the menu, a mischievous smile crept onto his face-it looked like he wanted to try something new too!

I was so excited to try this restaurant. I had been dying for a while after hearing how good it is. It’s also really cool that they have their traditional menu too, which includes all sorts of weird and wonderful dishes!

So when my friend from out-of-town came over, we headed here first thing because she has the taste buds of an adventurous eater just like me.

Chinese restaurant and takeaway serving standards along with more unusual dishes.

The Ambient

The restaurant was half full when we walked in, but the smell of good food and spicy spices made it a welcoming place. I took that as an immediate hint this would be worth my time once again! The hostess escorted us to our table immediately as well; the only other non-Asian person at any table with people sitting around it.

Delicious Chinese Food

A dish that we ordered was Crispy salt and pepper chilli squid. This is delicious! The batter is light, crispy and perfect for the salty taste of this dish. There is just enough heat to give it a good kick, so you don’t get bored with all those flavours in your mouth but not too spicy. One of my favourite things about ordering out is the opportunity to try something new. So when we saw Marinated Duck Tongue on a menu, well…I was hooked! They were so tender and full-bodied that I couldn’t stop eating them. The three types of barbecued meat were delicious. We had crispy pork belly, roast duck and soy chicken which we selected from a selection that was offered to us when ordering the dish; it went well with rice or bread!

For the veggie dish, we had Morning glory with garlic sauce. This was also delicious, but it’s nothing like anything you’ve tasted before! It tastes similar to a pak choi in flavour. The garlic sauce was divine as well.

A restaurant is not just about the food. It’s also a social experience, and no one does it better than Good Friends! The staff are always so eager to please you that they’ll remember your favourite dish when ordering time comes around again–and their service makes even long waits worth it for dishes like braised beef brisket hot pot, crispy pork belly, roast duck or salt and pepper squid.

China Garden Brighton

China Garden Brighton

If you are into Chinese food, this restaurant is for you. When it comes to authentic cuisine in Brighton and Cantonese dining – China Garden can’t be beaten!

I like the China Garden, it’s a great place to eat and hang out. I don’t know how they do it but somehow this restaurant manages to be both modern and inviting – not an easy feat! There is something for everyone here: plenty of options on offer. It can get really busy at peak times so make sure you book in advance if possible!

This large, contemporary restaurant can hold 150 people which is perfect for large groups, as well as allowing for a more intimate dining experience. Because of the restaurant’s convenient location on Preston Street, you will be able to enjoy amazing views of Brighton’s famous seafront while dining in one of China Garden’s quieter corners. Although it has a modern appearance, this restaurant has been serving food from its kitchen since the 1980s so they know what they’re doing!

Long-standing Chinese and Cantonese restaurant that serves dim sum until 4pm every day.

Chinese Cuisine at its Finest

The chefs at China Garden know a thing or two about cooking. From their extensive menu, you can order anything your heart desires from over 100 dishes! If they don’t have what you’re looking for on the menu, just ask and it will be made to your specifications in no time flat.

The Dim Sum menu at China Garden features a variety of steamed, fried and grilled dumplings. Along with the amazing selection for lunch or dinner, there is an A la carte menu running all day which has many different set menus to choose from. One I can recommend is their salt and pepper squid as well as Dim sum here!

You should also try some honey ribs when you’re visiting this restaurant because they taste fantastic too! Additionally, if desserts interest you don’t forget about those delicious honey cakes that won’t disappoint any sweet tooth out there – not to mention they have Thai pancakes mixed in on top of everything else so it’s hard to go wrong with your choices no matter what time it is.

Drinks and More!

China Garden has everything you need to make a delicious meal. The wine list is versatile, and it’s guaranteed there will be something for everyone! To get the party started order some Chinese tea or coconut juice on ice with limes – they’re refreshing and light.

There’s also an extensive beer selection if your preference runs toward brewskies.

The relaxed feel of China Garden is enough to make anyone want a seat at the table. Their prices are attractive and their service prompt, which makes for an enjoyable meal with friends or family.

Noodles Soup

Noodles Soup Brighton

The Atmosphere

I walked into the Noodles Soup resto with a slightly suspicious look on my face only to be greeted by an invitingly cosy atmosphere.

When I walk in, it looks like a typical noodles spot with nothing much to offer at first sight, but then my experience was kick-started by how accommodating all of the staff were and their genuine hospitality made me feel right at home which reassured me that this would be an authentic Chinese meal.

There were about twenty-five seats at small tables or high stools around counters along the edge of this restaurant but they managed to turn over all those tables in less than thirty minutes so it was clear that business is booming.

I came in starving and left feeling full. I’ve never seen such a lively restaurant before, not even at the peak of lunchtime.

Tasty Menu!

The noodles soup was piping hot with just enough spices to make it tasty without being too spicy for someone like me who doesn’t eat anything that could be considered “hotter than mild.”

I loved how it had a marvellous meaty texture! The noodles were so full of flavour. I also loved how the pak choi had a crunch and wasn’t too soggy in its sauce. Moreover, it was cooked to perfection!

They offered many side dishes too including gyoza, spring rolls, and wontons, all served fresh from the kitchen so they were still warm when I ate them! Noodles Soup is the best place for noodles soup. Their noodle selection will leave you mouthwatering as if it’s your last meal, and they are so reasonably priced!

I can’t believe the variety of options there is. The food tastes awesome and it’s extremely affordable for a meal in Brighton!

Tide

0

Tide Brighton

It is one of our favourite past-times to eat out regularly and to try different foods and restaurants as often as we can. Brighton gives us the chance to experience the local food scene regularly.
But when the pandemic took place, our lives changed dramatically. More homemade meals appeared overnight, with a greater interest in eating healthy foods.

In Brighton, you’ll find a wealth of talented chefs behind great restaurants that we all enjoy. In response to the “At Home” trend, most of these food producers have begun producing takeaway kits or meal kits for at-home consumption. Who’d have the foresight to have known we wouldn’t be eating in our favourite restaurants anymore but rather enjoying them at the convenience and comfort of our own homes?

BRIGHTON’S NEWEST STREET FOOD CONCEPT  ‘TIDE’ BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE TEAM BEHIND ‘LOST IN THE LANES’.

Having just opened its doors in February, the newest foodie hotspot Tide was one of our most eagerly anticipated new dining spots. Tide Brighton is part of the same team behind Lost in the Lanes. It’s my favourite brunch spot, Lost in the Lanes, so it’s no surprise that we knew this would be good.
Tide is offering delivery via UberEats and Click and Collect to homes throughout Brighton and Hove.

The food

This seafood restaurant specialises in Southern American street food, with a unique spot in Brighton’s seafood repertoire. There are fresh fish and local seafood combined with colourful salads, sauces and side dishes on the menu.

Their modern twist coating has been specially developed by Chef James, and it is what makes Tide so addictive from the first bite. You can order takeaway for home delivery between 4 to 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Food was delivered to us in a very large box. It was still deliciously warm and ready for consumption. Though, you may choose to pop it into the oven for a few minutes to heat it through if needed.

Irresistible Food Feast

TIDE is a fresh take on Southern-style fish and seafood, integrating the best of seafood with the warmth and joy of the South. The menu at the restaurant oozes creativity with dishes such as Southern spiced popcorn fried mussels, a southern-fried fish burger with cabbage ‘slaw, Cajun aioli, gem lettuce in a brioche bun, etc.

They also cater to the tastes of vegetarian and vegan diners with a standard menu. The dishes are loaded with fresh ingredients yet expertly designed to deliver an exquisite culinary experience.

Our sharing box for 2 had plenty of food! A selection of foods from the box included Cajun Potatoes, Southern Fried Fish, Crispy Squid, Popcorn Mussels, Corn-on-the-Cob, and Red Cabbage Slaw. Additionally, there are dips and sauces.
The prawns were great – big, juicy, and so good! We enjoyed them and they were cooked perfectly.

We enjoyed our Crispy Squid and Cajun Potatoes, which had such a wonderful kick in flavour that they complemented the fish quite well. Even a simple Corn on the Cob had such a distinct and delicious flavour.

This was a great take out and we were very pleased. Also, you don’t need to do the dishes.

The uniqueness of the flavours and how well it traveled made us so impressed. Would love to do it again. You won’t regret ordering now – and your weekend plans will be sorted!

Longrain Thai

0

Longrain Thai Restaurant

Brighton has been a bustling foodie destination for years, and it is no surprise that Longrain Thai Brighton opened in late 2020.
Nestled on St James’ street, Kemptown the restaurant joins its peers as one of many cuisines which make this area an undeniable favourite among locals and those who are willing to branch out from their usual haunts!

I recently learned about this new little gem that I’m sure will be one of those favourites. You enter the restaurant and instantly feel at home with your fellow diners who are welcomed like old friends.

It’s a great place for first-time visitors to enjoy themselves because locals love it too!

The food is delicious, as well as reasonably priced – you’re going to leave feeling satisfied from head to toe; just what any good Thai should want in their favourite meal.

Magnificent Thai Menu

You know what they say, good things are worth waiting for. Longrain Thai is no exception to this rule with their tantalizing Pan Asian dishes that will make your taste buds hungry and eager just by looking at them!
Their food balances the four elements of flavour: hot, sweet, salty or sour perfectly so each dish has a little bit of everything you crave in it!
Made fresh right before your eyes and crafted from only quality ingredients, makes eating even more satisfying than can be imagined.

If you need a filling meal, then the menu at this restaurant will be sure to please.
They have an assortment of small plates that can act as your main dish or shared with friends and more traditional items such as Laksa soup and Pad Thai noodles dishes.
Don’t forget about their vegan tempeh burger!

Asian Thai Brunch

Whenever I crave something different for my weekends these days, all I have to do is think about this cool new place, which has great Pan-Asian brunches on offer every day.
With its characteristic Indonesian and Thai flavourings like sambal oelek chilli sauce or spicy deep-fried tempeh paired up with traditional favourites such as pancakes or eggs benedict.

Here you’ll find breakfast dishes popular throughout Thailand that are seldom found here in the UK!
Brunching with food from Asia is just what you need to take your mind off work and give it time to wander back into those carefree days when everything seemed effortless…

Drink List

You’ll be surprised with the selection of vegan wines and Asian inspired cocktails on this menu!
Try out a fruity, spicy drink or smoothie that’s also dairy-free. The drinks are all so tasty as well as healthy for you which is always good when drinking alcohol in general…

Metrodeco Tea room

Metro Deco Brighton is a stylish tea room that’s perfect for an afternoon rendezvous.
The place has lots of natural light, so it feels like you are outdoors even though you can sit on the couches and have your meal in comfort. There are some tables to work at as well if all this sitting around isn’t your style.

Afternoon Tea Menu

I love tea and when I heard there was a selection of the most beautiful looking teas in town, it made my day.
There’s flowery tea that looks just like blooming flowers with petals floating on top or chai-tea which is spiced to perfection by cardamom seeds and cinnamon sticks.

And they don’t stop at only drinks – you can get afternoon cocktails too!

We had such an awesome time trying all their different types from their very kind server who told us about each one as she handed them over for tasting so we could pick what we liked best without even having to ask her anything because she knows exactly how much fun this would be if someone else got stuck choosing your drink every single time…

Food Selection

You’ll love the Afternoon Tea! They offer an assortment of sweet and savoury treats that are full of flavour.
The tea is served on three-tier stands, ensuring there’s enough for everyone to have a bite or two.
You can also choose from their made in house items like cakes and scones as well as some desserts they get delivered straight from local bakers around Brighton & Hove!

You’ll never be disappointed with this place. The fillings are amazing, and they always have a piece of quiche that’s just perfect for any time of day!

They’ve got a whole menu of gluten-free, vegan and dairy-free options. They’ll also cater for most allergies if you’re cool with that!

I had a really good time at the afternoon tea. The staff were all so sweet, and I enjoyed everything we ate (especially that croissant). It was nice to be able to get up and walk around too!

The atmosphere here makes for such a lively lunch meeting place with friends or colleagues as well because everyone always seems so happy.
And the food tastes even better knowing how many people come through this spot every day.

La Choza

0

La Choza Brighton

When you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, the La Choza in Brighton is your best bet.

La Choza Brighton is so authentic, it’s like you’re in Mexico! The food tastes fantastic and the drinks are some of my favourites.
Plus they have great prices that can’t be beaten- you could easily spend less than £10 for a meal there.
La Choza also has cool decorations with bright colours that make me feel alive when I come here all tired after work.

Mexican Street Food

Do you know those dishes that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? The ones where the spices are just so perfect, perking up your taste buds without being too much to handle. Well, this is one of these restaurants.

With a menu packed with appetizing options like burritos made from fluffy rice or pulled pork mixed in salsa, spice levels are always kept at an even level by margaritas which come sharp enough for anyone’s liking but still easy on the stomach thanks to refreshing lime juice added into it!

If you’re looking for a small, light meal or something to complement your main dish then look no further.
You can choose from calamari with chipotle sauce and ceviche on top of a crispy tortilla (which is my personal favorite) or if seafood isn’t really what you want, they have plenty of other options like tacos made fresh daily!

Savoury and Sweet

La Choza takes the basics of Mexican cuisine and mixes in some party. Whether it’s a twang from lime or fresh fish, La Choza has managed to keep their staples as they should be while adding just as much flavour into what you eat.

If you’re a first-timer or regular, get down to La Choza for some Mexican food and fiesta! If you live in Brighton then I would encourage trying out this place.

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant, the best kind there is: super delicious with authentic flavours!

Olé Olé Tapas

0

Olé Olé Brighton

Despite its fair share of Italian restaurants, Brighton is also home to some excellent Spanish tapas restaurants. Olé Olé brings a unique experience to Brighton with its Flamenco performances and Tapas.
You’ll feel like you’ve been transported in Spain when the Flamencos begin their show, making your dinner all the more authentic!

Classic tapas and paellas, with regular flamenco and guitar performances from Thursday to Saturday.

This creative, traditional, Andalusian design evokes the warm balmy nights of Spain, reflecting on the true spirit of food from those parts.
You can have an immersive experience here at Olé Olé by ordering your dinner dishes as you would find them back home – served family-style around long tables where diners share stories while enjoying their meals together…

Olé Olé is the ideal place for everyone to enjoy the great flavours and atmosphere of Spain while experiencing its passion, colours, and music.

Traditional Spanish Wines and Tapas

Consider yourself lucky if you find a restaurant that serves authentic dishes from Spain.
Olé Olé is the perfect example of this type of place since every dish they serve draws on decades-old Spanish family recipes and traditions.

This isn’t just any old tapas joint either, as these amazing delicacies are served in clay bowls to make them feel all the more traditional!

If you want to get your taste buds dancing, then don’t miss out on the Spanish dishes at this restaurant.

From seafood paella and chorizo in cider to tortilla with patatas bravas, there’s something for everyone!
And make sure not to forget about their lunchtime deals which include three courses of delicious food for only £9.95 each weekday.

Olé Olé offers great coffee, house wine and Sangria. You can also enjoy delicious cider here!

Live Music

One of the things that makes this restaurant so special is their live flamenco performances. These shows often feature an entire band and sometimes even dancing guests!
The live flamenco performances transport you away from the shores for a few hours as soon as they get underway. Once you’ve been transported away from these shores, coming back to reality just doesn’t seem like such a bad thing after all.
Guests are encouraged to come out of their seats and dance off some food, with groups often forming on the spot while being entertained by lively music played in the background!

All you need is a jug of sangria and Spanish passion to get into this immersive dining experience. The colours, sounds, and general culture are all here in Olé Olé Brighton so come on down for an evening that’s sure to be one-of-a-kind!
