When The Sea Calls: Brighton Seafront Bars

Brighton provides one of England’s most beautiful pebble coasts, making it a summer destination for students and summer tourists. The scenic stretch never fails to give you breathtaking views, no matter what time of year it might be!
While Brighton’s seafront is a hotspot in the summer, it is home to several bars all year round for locals and visitors alike. Sandy beaches are just the beginning; there are many great bars and clubs to enjoy while you’re on the coast. All of these establishments offer a variety of cocktails as well as delis that serve a wide range of hearty dishes, so you’re sure to find something you’ll love!

The residents of Brighton and Hove are very fortunate, as we can take advantage of the beautiful sea views while relaxing with a cocktail or eating a delicious meal.

Bison Beach Bar

Bison Beach Bar is located right on the coast, at the bottom of Kemptown, just east of Palace Pier.

As part of Brighton Sea Lanes, this bar offers everything you could want in a beach bar – fresh brews, craft beer, a relaxed atmosphere, and an array of exotic drinks.
A well-stocked bar that’s equipped to serve cocktails around the clock. With a dockyard-inspired set-up and pumping music, this is the perfect spot to party or socialize at the seaside.

As a joint venture with Wood X Coal, they also serve tasty food, including wood-fired pizza and barbecue.

Ohso Social

With summer nights spent by the sea alongside fresh local beer, we think this is a pretty accurate description of a night at Ohso Social.

The renowned ‘doughnut jetty’ is a hub of activity in the Lanes, and Ohso just beyond it. At this cafe bar overlooking one of Brighton’s most popular spots, you can get as close to the beach without stepping on the sand as possible!
Beachfront party bar that’s stylish and funky. In the summer, Ohso Social comes to life with vibrant parties and exciting events.
Breakfast is served starting at 10 am and serving meals until dinnertime. From a beach bar with a great family ambience to a sunset dance party into the late hours, the impressive cocktail list is sure to delight, while you can sample craft beer, wine, and the wide variety of gins.
Ohso Social has a fantastic terrace that’s heated during the winter months. There are outdoor seating areas to enjoy Brighton pier and its sea views. A popular spot for families during the day, it turns into a vibrant bar at night, drawing a younger crowd.

The Watershed

East Brighton’s marina is a hub for yachts and chain restaurants, but explore a little further, and you’ll come across The Watershed.

Just steps away from Brighton Marina Yacht Club, The Watershed is a stunning bar serving delicious food. During the week, you can stop by for breakfast plates that are perfect after or during brunch, or refreshing drinks to cool you off from the heat outside on one of those hot sunny days, and a tasty Sunday roast to warm your soul as we say goodbye until next weekend!

There’s nothing better than taking the family or gathering with friends to this incredible bar. Enjoy light bites and traditional bistro meals on the spacious west-facing outdoor deck.
Enjoy a sundowner at the bar and watch the deck come alive at sunset.
Drinking beer, enjoying the turquoise Sea view, and watching the blue sky go well together!

The Tempest Inn

This seafront pub humbly proclaims itself as Brighton’s best and more than lives up to it.

Located right on the seafront, The Tempest’s bar enjoys excellent promenade positioning. This initiative makes a significant positive impact on Brighton’s nightlife.
In their basements, the rooms are arranged in the shape of caves, with many corners lit by candlelight making for an extremely unique ambience. While craft beers, gins and proseccos are available in the cellar.

There is an open and airy space on the upper floor, while on the outside, there is a large patio. Views of the beach can be seen from the spacious outdoor area.
Besides Korean fried chicken, The Tempest also has a menu that offers vegan food.
The enormous beer garden has plenty of picnic tables for you to sit and relax while taking in the beautiful view and cool sea air.

There’s no better place to spend a sunny afternoon than here. In case of inclement weather, worry not – the views from inside are just as stunning, complete with coastal coves that are set into the wall, in a cave-like setting.
